SHYNE SUCCESS CONFERENCE HELPS PUT YOUNG PEOPLE ON THE RIGHT TRACK
The Shyne Awards hosted its first conference for young adults between the ages of 13-19. The Shyne Success Conference & Talent Competition was held on
Saturday, April 24 at the University of Pittsburgh, William Pitt Union, from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The event feature workshops on topics regarding: Success, Ethics & Leadership, Finances, Relationships and Safety.
Attendees also enjoyed lunch, a talent competition where their peers competed for cash prizes (First Place: $500; Second Place: $250 and Third Place: $125) and an opportunity to perform at The 4th Annual Shyne Awards that will be held on Saturday, August 7 at the Byham Theatre. Plus, attendees enjoyed a special performance by Universal Recording Artist "Newland." Newland is a singer, songwriter and producer that is heavily being considered as the next R&B superstar! Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Newland began singing and dancing at an early age after being musically inspired by his Father as well as artists such as; Michael Jackson, Prince and Usher.
Newland just released "Pillow," the first single from his self-titled debut album. When asked what fans can look forward to, he states, "People can expect a smooth classy sound. I want be like a breath of fresh air!"
The Shyne Success Conference was sponsored by The David Berg Center for Ethics & Leadership at the University of Pittsburgh, FedEx Ground, Chuck Sanders Charities, BrothaAshProductions.com, Hill House Association and the Hill District Federal Credit Union.

The SHYNE Awards is a premiere awards ceremony that recognizes the positive achievements made by young adults ages 13-19. Young adults are nominated and recognized in one of the following categories: The Arts, Academics, Entrepreneurship, Community Service and Service in Ministry. An adult is awarded the Gwendolyn J. Elliott Lifetime Achievement Award.
